How do you properly hold drumsticks while marching?

Okay I'm hoping to try out for my schools drumline next year, and I've noticed that instead of holding the sticks strait, they hold one at an angle. What is the proper techniqe for holding sticks in this manner?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: There are two different methods for holding drumsticks....you need to talk to the director before auditioning and find out which style you'll be using for that particular drumline. I've been in drumlines that use both.... Good Luck!
