How David Copperfiled does to escape from the explosive building?

He's in a safe and the cam㩲a is locking on it. There is a wierd thing to notice though: The camera is zomming on the safe. I think it's a trick. But i still don't know how. How does he do to appear on a one inch platform? I have an idea for myself but what about you, people?
