Help Singers Help! Advice Needed!?

Hey! Well i had my voice lesson on tuesday, and i cant seem to get the fact, that i cant stop smiling when i sing. my teacher is trying to make me stop smiling, but i just cant. I know that when i smilie, it changes the pitch of my voice, and well she said that if i stop smiling i could open my mouth wider, that so that sound will be better. is there any way that i could stop this? Please help with this! Thanks a lot. I coudl use all the tips and advice! thanks
