Question:

Trio Music?

We have 2 violins and 1 viola
We are looking to play in a high school competition
One violinist takes lessons, is in Suzuki book 6
The other does not, but is still quite good
The violist is around the same level as the first violinist
Are there any good pieces for a trio like that and where would one be able to find them?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Can the violist read treble clef or bass clef as well as alto clef? If so, the viola can play a third violin part or a cello part if necessarily. There is some trio music available free on www.8notes.com, so you might want to check it out. Pachelbel's Kanon in D is always great for a trio to play too. You can also buy trio music for the three parts on eBay.
