Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Swanhilda is jealous of Coppelia; she is unkind to Coppelius; she is mischievious & has a sense of fun, she is the leader of her group of friends. She is resourceful in Act 2 when she rescues Franz & in Act 3 she does show some generosity to Coppelius. From the point of view of dancing technique Swanhilda has quite a lot of mime, 2 classical pas de deux with Franz & the national dances in Act 2. She needs charm, flirtatiousness & acting ability as much as classical technique. |
