doing makeup for a play of macbeth and trying to figure out what the makeup should even look like... ideas?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: One of the beauties of Shakepeare that has kept his plays going for so long is that they are very open-ended as far as performance specifics like makeup, costumes, or sets go. Doing a classical Elizabethan mantra, pure color was one of the few things used as far as makeup goes, with pale white faces being dead or murderous people and blackface being also used. Of course, any other era has its own ideal of makeup, but the decision is- as is most in Shakespearean literature- up for interpretation.
