What are some easy, great sounding songs to play on a guitar?

I've started to play guitar and i'd like a couple of easy songs to learn.

I like bands like The Vines, The Libertines, The White Stripes, The Strokes and The Beatles.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: ok so im a guitarist as well . i started playing acoustic .. eh. 3 or 4 years ago ,.. on and off unofrtunately.
now what im about to recommend... will sound extremely .. stupid, miserable, and like something u really dont want to do.. but im telling u.. it works. Thats how i learned to play the very first songs i ever played. Note: These mostly are not rythem songs. I mean for u to play the lead parts. Learn to play things like amazing grace, greensleeves, etc. basic holiday songs, country spirit songs. After you master those, you will have a much GREATER understanding of guitar plus you will have started developing certain habits of playing. Once you master those, i'd suggest starting with bands like .. Blink 182, Green Day, etc. to get the feel for chords and stuff like that. Then just feel to free to splurge and test your limits on any song you want to try. (You'll figure out what u can and cant play by this time trust me).
