Question:

I LOVE colorguard and want to get more involved.?

I am a junior in highschool, and am captain of my guard. The thing is, that I live in a very small town in MD and my opportunities of going further in colorguard are very few. I would love so much to be involoved in DCI, or any competing band/guard. I love it. But the problem is, one, there aren't any around me...that I know of. And secondly, I have no way to gauge how good I really am b/c none of the schools in my county compete. I want to further my experience, but am restricted b/c of where I live. And it sucks. Soo, does anyone know of any summer programs/camps/bands/guards, etc. close to MD/DE/PA? Any information of any kind would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all so much, and sorry for the minor vent.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I would email DCI - (dci@dci.org) and ask them if there is a div 2/3 corps in your area.

If you would like to march division I, I would email the corps closest to you (Boston Crusaders) and ask if there is someone in your neck of the woods you can carpool with to camps.

Now is the time to act! Auditions are normally held Thanksgiving weekend.

I would also look into competitive winterguard - which is plentiful along the east coast. Check out www.wgi.org. It bridges that gap between field season and corps season.
