Question:

Whats on my strings?

I'm new to the violin and have recently discovered something almost sticky but not really...(it's hard to discribe) on my strings.

Is this from using too much rosin on the bow?? or something else?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: its the rosin that you put on your bow, just get a cloth and whipe it off. It happens a lot.

When rosining your bow do it in a down bow pattern only and about 4 strokes and a bit more on the top and bottom. Dont use rosin too much or it will affect your playing.

hope this helps.
