Question:

What are the diffences beteeen Classical Guitar and Jazz Guitar?

I have messed around with the guitar for years now and always kicked myself for not taking any formal training of any kind. My college offers classes and private lessons for Classical Guitar and Jazz Guitar. Could yall give me some insight as to what to expect - I have seen Classical Guitar concerts and the guitars so I am somewhat familiar with that, but I know nothing of Jazz guitar. I have a Fender acoustic guitar, but I dont know if that would work for these classes. I will ulitmately talk with the professors, but until I get a chance to do that I would like to get a general understanding if you guys have any thoughts on this.
Thanks!!!

Classical and jazz share a lot of similarities. In fact, an argument can be that jazz is derived from Classical. The two differ from rock and blues in that there is no string bending, rather you play the notes straight. There's less strumming chords, and more single notes played.
