Question:

Try outs? Auditions? Dance? What to look for? What to expect?

I dont think I worded this right the first time so I am going to try again.

Cirque du Soleil?????
Has anyone here on yahoo answers tried out or tried to be a Cirque du Soleil Performer?

What was that like and What did you do?

Bellydance??????
Has anyone here on yahoo answers tried out or tried to be one of those Bellydance Superstars?
What was that like and What did you do?

This question is now open to any dancer that has auditioned in a more involved competition in a specific type of dance genre or area that requires skill and experience---- Please read the question--- I am asking about try outs also known as auditions-- What did they involve--- Was it expensive-- Were there hotel fees--- Do they always pick the person who seems perfect or is it about spirit and passion ?? I would like to know from experienced people what to expect, look for, and what to know.

I dont mind comments like good luck, follow your dreams and so forth.(easy 2pts.)

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I've never tried out for belly dancing, but I have for ballet... like she said, good eye contact, look happy, always radiate passion. Cross your fingers and beg to Destiny to grant you a go ahead. Oh, and /know/ you are good, even if you aren't. But I suggest you be good as well ;) Uhm... don't worry about competition, makes friends with the competition that allows you to befriend them, be imporsonal to the judges though, only /talk/ to the judges themselves if you are auditioning for a part in a play. Have your routine down, and always always always know the stage you'll be auditioning on. GOOD LUCK DARLING!
