Question:

Please answer!!?

I'm a singer and cheerleader. I scream and sing 24/7 all the time. Now, I've learned to control it. Now the talent show is 2 weeks away, and I want to sing. But my voice is like a raspy hoarsey voice a little bit. What can help it. By the way I am going to stop talking for the next 2 weeks. Not one word. Will my voice get better? Also, I'm the girl that worries alot, so please don't say anything that'll scare me about my voice, or anything. PLEASE! I'll worry.

What can I do, so my voice will be cured?
Please! Help! Also please answer these two questions:
1) What can I do for my throat to be better when I sing?
2) Will my voice get better (I'm going to stop talking and going to start relaxing my voice?

Thanks to those who answer intelligently in advance!!!!!!!!

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: -Try to go easy on your voice. You don't have to stop talking, but speak softly. Don't yell or scream. That'll just make it worse.

- Drink tea with lemon and a little bit of honey (if you don't like tea, just hot water with lemon and honey). They're good for your throat.

-Get pleanty of sleep.

-Drink lots of water.

-Gargle with warm salt water once or twice a day.

-For at least 24 hours before you perform, avoid eating or drinking anything that will cause phlem- milk, soda/pop, etc. Stick to water and tea.

-Use cough drops or that sore throat spray as needed to sooth your throat, but don't over do it with either.

-If you're talking and your throat starts hurting or you notice yourself sounding raspier, STOP TALKING and drink some water or tea. Rest your voice for a while.
