A question for music composers?

In a (3/4) song I made, in one measure three notes are played. The first has 3 beats to it, the second 2, and the last 1. Meaning, each is played as a quarter note, but held down until the end of the measure.

Would I draw that as three quarter notes with slurs between them? If not, how would I make that?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Use a dotted half note. The musicians sometimes get confused if you use a whole note. You can go ahead and use a whole rest instead of a dotted half rest if you're having a rest for a whole measure, though.
