Question:

Graduating college what's next?

Hi, I recently graduated college with a bachelors degree in computer information systems this past june and in that same month, I've been working in a IT field. I, however, recently relazied that I don't want to be in front of a computer all day. I am going back to college to study theaters because is more outgoing and I think I may have the ability to do it. My question is, after I get my bachelor degree in Theaters, what can I do next?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Well, my sister graduated with a BA in Theater, and she had a really really really hard time finding a "theater" job, if you will. In fact, she never found one.

While there are plenty of opportunities to go out and get a job as a stage hand, or behind the scenes work - it's quite difficult to make a living as an actor/actress. Unless you're outstanding - and you've attending a well known school and you live in a large city - you're going to have a hard time paying the bills.

She is now getting her Associates in sign language, as an attempt to get on stage as an interpreter during performances and ceremonies.

I'd think twice before I spent 4 years getting a Theater degree - why not try something in liberal arts? English or Communications, perhaps?
