What is the relation between dance music and drama?how do these 3 arts forms link together?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Art Forms: - Various art-forms like music, dance, painting, sculpture, architecture and other allied arts have thrived for centuries now. It is needless to say that they have reached high amounts of sophistication. The role of arts as an integral part of life was recognised by Indians very early. Thus they identified and nurtured as many as 64 art forms. Nevertheless, of all the art forms, music is one that relies solely on its own greatness. On the other hand, art forms like dance, sculpture etc require at least a basic knowledge of other arts or sciences. In other words, they are interdependent.
Dance and Music: - Have anyone ever heard of dance without music? Or enjoyed dance if it was accompanied by a bad music? Music is a very important part of any dance form, be it classical, folk, tribal, modern or ballet. There are very specific musical forms for dance. It wouldn't make any sense if it were not accompanied by lyrics, which are more often sung than recited. Similarly, footwork wouldn't be effective without the help of percussion.

Dance and Theatre: -The three main aspects of dancing nritta (pure dance where the aspect of rhythm plays a major role. It moulds one??s character in terms of alertness and punctuality), nritya (the sentiment or the rasa and the psychological state or bhava. This contributes to the communication skills of a person not only to the richness of dance but also in mending one??s life.) and natya (some story or theme, which makes the dance meaningful. This aspect of dancing shapes the character of the dancer in terms of organising and orderly presentation.

Music and Theatre: - Music is an integral part of folk and theatrical arts. The entry and exit of important characters, dramatic effects at important junctures etc are all achieved with the help of music. The movements of the actors are usually accompanied by drum music. The songs are also generally composed depending upon the requirements of the situation. Except for theatrical arts of India like Terukootu, Naacha, Ram Leela, Rasaleela and Nautanki, most of the other arts like Bhagavata Mela Natakas, Kudiyattam, Yakshagana and Ankiya Nat have songs in classical tunes. The music for such arts is provided with the aid of instruments such as harmonium, drums, flute and other melodic instruments, depending on the region or area. Many types of compositions get featured too.
