Does singing require hard work?

I think they are overpayed compared to athletes. Athletes actually have to work hard.

You perform for an audience, you practice daily, you have to train your muscles, you have to hone your techinical craft, you have to avoid certain things which could negatively affect your performance, you have to know your movements, and your movements in relation to other singers (just like plays in sports!), you can attain stardom and earn a lot of money, but most singers/athletes don't... the parallels are incredible. Some singers are overpaid considering their talent, but I would say that applies to many athletes as well.
