Question:

I'm an Architect but i want to be a classical singer - do i have to go back to music college?

i'm 26 - just qualified as an Architect (RIBA) a month ago. I always thought music was too risky an industry and i should get a 'trade' - however i want to sing professionally so much. i am part of a choir at the moment but i want to do more. do i have to go back to college? does anyone know what i should do? (german lieder is my thing!) thanks.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: You're right about one thing, music is a risky business. In my very humble opinion, you should continue with your architect job and do the music thing on the side. As you get more experience, make more contacts and find more opportunities, then branch out. You seem to have a great career ahead of you and shouldn't ruin it on a whim. Plan it out and make it happen.

I bet you'll do a great job!
