AT 13 HOW DO YOU START A SINGiNG CAREER??????

Im interested in the pop music business.
Yes, I know how tough it can be.
Yes, I sing very well and take vocal lessons.
No, Im NOT trying out for american idol.

I know a lot of stars did local contests and stuff when they were my age but theres just no opportunites where i live - reno nevada.
And Im a freshmen so no matter how good I am im not even CONSIDERED for school musicals. How can I start? Oh, I write my own songs :-)

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: you should tape your music that you've written and send it to music companies such as arista or virgin or jive and if they like you're music and style, you'll probably start a career! oh and try to have a special style, do not send them a tape where half the songs look alike and look like all those other pop singers! do not be shy! you have to show them that you like your music and that it's the best ever! plus, that your mature... good luck, rock on and hope to see your cd in stores soon!
