Question:

What is a good approach for learning to play the drums?

I've gotten drum tabs off line and worked through them.
I cant afford lessons.

Any one know a good tab website for drums?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: That lawsuit on tabs is ridiculous and will get thrown out imediately. But regardless, drum tabs are not the way to go. You want to be able to listen to a song and figure it out by ear. Most rock songs are all the same anyways with a basic rock beat variation. Get a book fo $15 and learn it on real sheet music like a real musician. Learn the basics including your rudiments (sounds lame, but a lot of kickass beats are simply variations of rudiments) then learn your basic rock beats that will be in the book. After that, listen to your favorite bands and you should be able to apply your new knowledge to that song. Its kind of the whole "Teach a man to fish, he'll eat for a lifetime" You don't wanna learn a song one at a time, you want to learn how to be able to play all songs from listening to it.
