Question:

HELP! I have a hole in my viola and I have to get it fixed before school starts!?

This hole is in the body of the instrument. Where could I get it fixed for the least amount of money? Because this instrument belongs to my high school. Also, the big thing is that the hole WASN'T EVEN MY FAULT!! The night of our school concert, I really needed my instrument tuned, so I raised my hand to ask the conductor. But the section leader said "give it to me I will do it." Of course there was no way i could say no, so I gave it to her. It took her a long time to get it in tune, but she finally got it. However while she was tuning we heard a popping sound. I didn't know what it was till she gave it back to me. SHE had caused the hole in my instrument!
so what should i do?!?! my teacher said that i have to pay b/c its my responsibility, but it wasn't my fault and I don't have the money to pay for it.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Your teacher caused the hole so you are NOT responsible for her accidental carelessness. When you rented your viola, your parents most likely signed some sort of lease or contract with your school's music program which should have also covered things like this. Have your parents contact that company with your story and to see if you can get a replacement instrument. If all else fails, have your parents contact your schools' principal with your story in the hopes of a reasonable solution. Neither you nor your parents should have to pay out of yor pocket for her mishap.
