Question:

I just got a guitar for christmas and I can play oh when the saints but...?

I don't know the names of the notes.
My dad just showed me where you put your fingers and what such.
I can read music because I have played the trumpet for over 4 years, But I don't know how to read tabs. I have been trying to learn the basic cords and get to know the fret board. But it's all so confusing. Any tips? Website? Books?
Everything helps because I really plan on sticking with the guitar, music interests me greatly.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: i also got a giutar for chrismas its my first giutar its not hard for me because ive been playing lots of instruments tuba 4 years,trumpet 2 years , piano 1 year, and trombone 4 years and im only 12 years old all the advice i can give u is that at any music store ask them 4 a giutar book they have all instument books years 1-13 oh and get an electric if thats not wat u already have there alot easier to press down on the strings for the pain of ur fingers lol, i would know.
