Question:

Does anyone have any singing tips?

How do I sing louder without going off key?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Also, keep in mind that not everyone has a belt voice. Some people have a big voice that hits all the glory notes (think Kelly Clarkson, Martina McBride), and some people have a richer, less bold tone (think Nora Jones, Anna Nalick).

That said, there is nothing wrong with working on your belt and learning to use it. Pretty much anyone can belt to SOME degree. But if it doesn't come naturally to you, look at the strengths you have and learn to showcase those to your best advantage. Every voice has strengths-and sometimes, the big voices are a dime a dozen. Everyone seems to think that to be "good" or "amazing", they have to be able to belt a huge note for 5 minutes. Not true. It's AWESOME if it's what you do well, but if not, it's not a stretch to wow with what YOU have.

Anyway, to strengthen your belt, good breathing technique and control are essential. And learning not to rely on your throat so much. People abuse their throats trying to do things they simply are not designed to do, and it's MUCH better to have a solid technique. I recommend finding a good vocal coach.

Good luck!
