Question:

How must i build up the courage to present in front of a crowd/ class?

I am a wonderful performer, i love to act, i am great in group discussions, i am a leader... and yet, when it comes to presenting information or reading out loud to a class or large group of people (10+ people)... i get embarrassingly nervous and it makes me hate making presentations. What can i do for this?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: USE the acting to your advantage... that is what I did many years ago, and now I can present anything to anyone.

If I had papers to write, I wrote them in character, any character really. If you have to present math, play the role of a math teacher. Try to memorize much of your presentation and have a role that is not you chosen for it. For English, I wrote papers in the form of a character in the book.

You don't have to be so over-the-top people think you have gone crazy. In most cases, people don't even have to know. Just use memorization, emotion, passion, confidence etc..

Because you are an actor, in English classes you can say you will be acting it out.

I always chose topics I was passionate about, or at least very interested in. Emotion makes it easier to remember the flow and next line, just like any other acting role.
