Question:

Cleaning a trumpet mouthpeice?

does peroxide clean or ruin a trumpet mouthpeice when you are trying to get rid of black rings

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: i believe it depends on the type of mouthpiece you have. Certain metals and alloys react differently.

Hot water would help with the peroxide, and you can use cotton swabs to clean the INSIDE of the piece... just rinse with hot water or warm water afterwords...

just make sure u dry the mouthpiece off immedietly if u use peroxide.

As for soap, Lemon Joy and Palmolive liquid dish soap work well. DO NOT use toothpaste, abrasive soaps, Brasso, Tarnex, chemicals or any soaps that make the water turn milky. Do not use soaps that leave behind an odor, or claim to contain a skin softening lotion.
