Question:

How do you increase your vocal range?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: When I took vocal lessons, my teacher had me practice octaves.

I'd start at the lowest note of my register, let's say it was an A. Then, I'd sing the same A an octave higher, and then back down to low A. The syllables I'd use were "Wah - Eee - Ah" and then after I sang the lower note again, I'd got back up to the high one, and sing 5 semitones up and down on "ee"

The notes would be: low A - high A - low A - high A-Bflat-B-C-C#-C-B-Bb-A

Then I'd repeat the exercise starting on Bb, and keep going up until I couldn't sing any higher.

This really helped a lot! After a few months of study, I had a 4 octave range.
