Acting application?

I have been involved in a number of community plays and now i would like to go a step further. I recently found an acting agent application form, but when i read it i found out my parents needed to sign it and stuff. This would be a great opportunity for me if i do do this, but im afraid to tell my parents about it, but i dont know why! all m friends tell me to do it, but i dont know how to tell my parents. how do i tell them about it?
