Question:

Play Writer in Trouble?

I was inspired to write a play, but I don't know what to make it about. I don't want it too romantic or too violent. Something that I can add onto and make a sequel. Something with humor. Plenty of characters. I was hoping someone could give me a broad idea. Something like "The search for the holy grail". But not that. Something like "The main characters are going on a mission at school to spy on the bully." Any help appreciated!

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: When I write works or plays the ideas generally evolve out of some historical event. Flip through history meanwhile listen to classical music. It works, trust me. When I wrote a short story on a World War II battle I listened to the band of brothers sountrack and the music for medal of honor. I also read some stories from soldiers there in the battle. And I also sat outside on a wintry day to get a feel for the Battle of the Bulge and what it was like. If you want a work to have feeling to it then you need to generate that feeling in yourself.
