He restored respectability to the office of the president after the Harding scandals!. Coolidge basically took a hands off approach to allow the free enterprise system to operate in the American marketplace!. Business leaders enjoyed freedom to do basically what they wanted, and the days of the Roaring Twenties took over the nation!. Coolidge ignored foreign affairs and made slashing the budget his main priority!. He left office well respected!. His policies would add to the causes of the Great Depression, but he was safely out of office for several years before it hit, so did not get much blame for the Depression!.
