Question: How long will it take before children in America are given history lessons that tell the truth!?

When will all history books be written to reflect the turths about all great people of this country, passed and present and their great contributions!? If history is to be studied should it not reflect truths about all!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

If a parent finds that something is lacking in their child's education, it's up to them to supplement that education by teaching them, or by getting the appropriate reading materials for that child!. Every school can't teach every lesson that every person feels important!. The best thing they can do it teach a child to seek more information in other places, and give them the tools to do that!.

I am an Aussie and all thoroughly enjoy learning the history of all countries, especially American history!. Throughout my schooling we were taught at least one major event of each country that contributed both on a positive and negative scale to what they are today!.
It was unfortunate to discover that Americans are not taught about other countries!.!.!.!. It was during my 7th year in primary school that we made contact with an American Primary School and were dumbfounded to receive questions in our letters regarding Australians living conditions and even to go as far as asking if we have Kangaroos jumping down our streets and Emu's tapping on our bedroom windows each morning!. I live in a civilised mining town surrounded by bush land in lower Western Australia and have only ever seen Emu's in captivity and could count the number of Kangaroos i have seen on 1 hand!!
If these are the Geography lessons American children are receiving, i don't even want to think about their History classes!!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

They wont!. The situation will only get worse!. The young are totally being indoctrinated into a huge multi cultural touchy feely kind of history, where history is what the individual perceives it to be!.

Because I know the history they teach in school is full of holes, but there is simply so much to know that it would be virtually impossible to include everything!. I do think it needs improvement, but so does nearly every other subject covered in American public schools!. They are sadly rather inadequate when it comes to many classes; not only in history!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

American schools are unwilling to teach anything which happened during the life times of the people voting on the next school budget!.

Histories are re-written every decade or so, with Texas and California leading the charge, as the largest buyers of text books!. So schools have two very different options!. Neither is inclusive or objective, since they are aimed at average to stupid high school students!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well that's a very pessimistic view!. Have you read a US history textbook in the past 5 years!? They deserve much more than you are giving them credit for, going out of their way to show diverging viewpoints and offer biographies of many different people that helped shape the nation!. it will take the children's parents to learn themselves the truth and teach it to their children!. teachers are limited by their contracts and regulations of what they can teach!. but that still does not have to hinder them from giving truthful information!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
