Locke believed in natural or unalienable rights: life, liberty and property!. this heavily influenced T!. Jefferson in writing the Declaration of Independence!. Hobbes was the "social contract" and "consent of the governed," meaning that that government authority comes from the recognition of the people!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Sean's answer is on the right track, but not complete enough!. What you need to do is to go to the library and find a book entitled MASTERPIECES OF WORLD PHILOSOPHY which will summarize both philosophies and then draw your own educated conclusion of what you are looking for!.
