You will not find a war fought for a good reason!. They're never fought for a "good reason"!.

By saying "good reason" you're saying that 1 side had to defend itself!. So "reason" can be taken out of the picture in that scenario- it became an unwanted necessity- not to be confused with a war in which we felt it was good to engage!. By saying "good reason" you're implying there was something to gain, but there's never anything to gain from 2 solders killing each other over the disagreements of their politicians!.

Every war in history can be traced back to greed, broken pride, delusional behavior, the idea that the wager of war was superior, or the need to defend yourself from the aforementioned- and none of those are "good reasons!."

Even in the case of the Civil War- the south attacked the north at Ft!. Sumter over greed- for slaves in this case!. It was greed that started that war!. The Union acted in self-defense, not because there was a "good reason" to engage in war, but because it became an unwanted necessity!.

!.!.!.!.!.

!.!.!.however, I'm assuming this is a homework assignment- in which case your teacher will not care about ideology but rather political correctness!.

In this case, you can take ANY war in history and simply tell it from the perspective of "the good guy!." That would make any war look like it had a "good reason" behind it because you would only be advocating the need for a country to defend itself!.

Here is an example:

"The (insert war here) was fought for a good reason because the (insert good guy here) needed to defend themselves from the oppression of the (insert bad guy here)!."

Good luck to you, and remember how silly war really is!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

For all wars it depends on who's side you are: for example the Second World War!. Everybody says that the war against Germany started for a good reason (I agree with this)!. But for the Germans, their war against Europe was also for a good reason!. Just like the war in Gaza!. Both parties justify themselves to start a war, because they believe they start the war for good reasons!.
When you look it from a distance, all wars should be avoided of course ;-)Www@QuestionHome@Com

WW2 Fought against Nazism!. We fought to liberate Europe from Nazi rule!. To liberate the East of Japanese Imperialism!.

WW1 Fought against nations!. Thousands of men died for nothing!. No gain came of that war, and in turn it started the turn of events leading up to WW2!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The Chinese war against the Japanese during the 1930s was fought for a good reason!.

The Japanese invasion of China during the 1930s was fought for a negative reason!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

All depends on which side you were on at the time!. The most obvious good reason is WW2 in which Britain declared war on Germany because they invaded Poland!. As for negative wars, is not all war negative!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Each side has its own reason for fighting in a war, just like one person's terrorist is another person's freedom fighter!.
As for good reasons, look up the Just War theory!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
