But if you talk about this curly fashion, I would say it came from France in early XX century!. It is called : "moustache en guidon" ( bicycle handle-bar)!. Mexico, at that time had a strong French cultural influence!. I don't know where did the French pick it from!.Maybe from Austrio-Hungarian empire!? A Hungarian friend has an etching from late XIX with a handsome Magyar (Hungarian) guy waring this kind of mustache!.
