The Middle Ages were a thousand years long and covered a dozen countries!. The answer was not the same during at entire period!.

However, the most common answer is probably a Priest's House, known as a "rectory," in English usage, or a "parochial house!."

Monks lived in monestaries and while priests could be monks, a monk was not necessarily a priest!. A monk takes Holy Orders; a priest is Ordained!.

Note: In Catholicism (ie!. Western Christianity) priests were allowed to be married until 1054!. At that time they often lived houses near or adjacent to the church or chapel that they served with their wives and children!. Priest are still allowed to be married in the Orthodox Church (ie!. Eastern Christianity)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
