Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
The strength of Rome was its ability to absorb different peoples and their cultures and make them a part of the Roman empire!. The Romans often took gods from other cultures and made them their own!. There was a whole multitude of different deities and the Romans often had no problems with conquered races keeping their own gods!. They were tolerant of most religions with the possible exception of Christianity and JudaismWww@QuestionHome@Com

A little bit of both!.
The Romans were always impressed by Greek culture!. After the Roman take over of Greece, lots of art was pillaged and taken to Rome!. It created a fashion there!. One was not cultured if one did not speak (Attic) Greek!.

Of course, since Greece was now part of the Roman empire, it influenced them too!. But to a much lesser extend!. Greek remained the language, and later became the language of the Byzantine empire!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
