I think a better question would be how did the Spaniards impact on the Aztecs affect the current society of Mexico!. The Spaniards essentially ended Aztec culture when arrived in what would become Mexico!. They killed so many natives (through a mixture of conquest, religion and the inadvertent introduction of Europeans diseases into a native population with no “munities”) that they eventually had to start importing slaves from other conquered islands!. Your class sure spends a lot of time trying to find a little signal in a lot of noise!. I'm not sure the ancient Aztecs did anything that impacts us today, unless they were the ones who first used corn!. I suppose that they provide a good example of why a society requires a strong defense because, obviously, theirs wasn't strong enough!. They also did a lot of nasty human sacrificing, but then so did the ancient Hebrews, so you can't really credit the Aztecs with originality in this, either!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
