I think he was clearly off his nut well before, but the most obvious milestone was when the Nazi party started blaming the Jews for !.!.!. everything, and started talking about racial purity!.

The qualities of a leader MUST include the goals that he or she is leading you towards!. The ability to get people to agree, the ability to mobilize etc!. are *NOTHING* if your end goal is to jump off a cliff!.

However, yes, he did have many of the qualities of a great leader: He did have the ability to express his opinion in a way that excited the electorate, etc!.

Clearly, he was not as good a leader as, say, Churchill - who kept the British together as things were getting progressively worse and on until ultimate victory!. Hitler started with people who were desperate to be lead - much easier pickings then a well informed essentially happy people!.

Hitler's decisions became progressively more chaotic and ill-thought out as it became more obvious that the Third Reich was doomed!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

He didn't really turn bad, he always didn't like the jews!. They were a minority and easy to blame for there bad economic times!. And with the sterio types of jews being rich, It wasn't hard to convince the germen people they were to blame!. And people thought he was a great leader cause he had great talking skills!. He was one of the most evil men in all history!. Nothing made him turn bad!. He was evil from the beginning!. He got power in 1933!. His government put millions of Germans back to work!.He crushed the trade unions!. You could say those were good things!. He tore up the WW1 peace treaty and reoccupied the Saar-land!. If you were German you could say those were good things!.He was a great leader in the sense that he could get the entire German Nation to follow him through the hell of WW2!. I don't get the impression he was ever a 'good leader'---he had charisma enough to get the country behind him, but he was not a good leader in the sense that he was doing anything particularly great for Germany in the long-run!. You have to remember that the guy was temporarily successful but absolutely crazy---when he was planning to kill himself, for example, he was so paranoid that the drugs wouldn't prove fatal that he made someone use them to murder his own dog!. Compared to the Holocaust, though, even that is a drop in the bucket!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It wasn't so much that he "turned" bad its just after getting to the position he wanted by being such a charismatic and intelligent speaker and leader did he finally get the level of power to do what he had always wanted to do!. That kind of prejudice doesn't just grow over night!. nothing made him "turn bad" he pulled them through the bad time because he wanted them to be behind him when he caused the war!. he always hated the jews which is why he was imprisoned when he started out!. he decided that the germans were the purest race so he wanted his ideal to become international!.

Innate, inherited Mental illness, a VERY abusive childhood, and an addiction to speed made him lose his goddamned mind!.

His family was known in the area as having sever mental illness!.!.!. He did his best to hide this!.!.!. he really wasn't that great, it's just that he gave the people false hopes in a time when they were very desperate, most people just went with it because the nazi party was so powerful, they saw him as their escape from the depression!.
