I doubt the empires going to make a comeback anytime soon!. But all the ex members still have a strong alliance to Britain and most of them belong to the Commonwealth (which is a bit like the UN)!.
Some commonwealth members such as Australia still recognise the Queen as their head of state, but others like India just have strong ties with Britian!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Australia, New Zealand and Canada (nb Canada does not have a Union flag on its official flag) are sovereign states they are governed by federal democracies (they are also constitutional monarchies), that monarch is Queen Elizabeth II the position is no more than ceremonial and does not indicate any substantial control, there are sixteen Commonwealth Realms!.

India (also no Union flag) is also a federal democracy but, although a member of the Commonwealth, like those above, is not a constitutional monarchy!.

Will it ever be rebuilt!? Not in your lifetime!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The British Empire officially came to an end in 1947 with the independence of India!. Although the British empire was historical fact for centuries, it was not legally declared to exist until 1876 when the government of Disraeli officially declared Queen Victoria to be "Empress of India!."

After that declaration, Victoria signed documents as "Victoria R I," (Regina Imperatrix -- "Queen Empress")!. All of Victoria's successors also signed their names "R!.I" until George VI!. After 1947, George signed his name "George R" as the empire officially came to a close!.

Hope this helps!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Britain still has an empire if you call a few scattered rocky out croppings like the Falkland Islands an empire

By the way You do not own Australia, India or Canada or any of the dozen other nations you used to!. Some of us still use your silly wrinkly old handbag of a queen as a figure head but she has no more power in Canada than does the lady who hoovers the carpets on Parliament hill has

Hope that clears up your miconceptions about the empireWww@QuestionHome@Com
