There is some evidence that the Ascension in the Gospel of Mark was added after 400 AD, over three centuries after the gospel was written!. The Codex Vaticanus and the Codex Sinaiticus, the two earliest versions, written c!. 400 AD both end at 16:8, but later versions include an extra twelve versesWww@QuestionHome@Com

When you talk about the Bible and mention Jesus, I'm tempted to think you are talking about the New Testament, since Jesus was not mentioned in the Old Testament!. And far from adding verses to the bible, there have been numerous books cut from the bible!. There were many more books than are in the present bible, but the Catholic Church didn't like some of them so declared them to be doubtful!. Others they accepted, but said only members of the clergy could understand them, the general public could not, which was quite a put down!!. But recent archaeological finds have discovered some of these early text - such as the Book of Jude - so we know there was much more to the early version of the New Testament than that which is common today!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The critical texts discovered in the late 1800s, which date back to before the texts used to print the KJV indicate that small bits have been added here and there!. One such example is the man who was healed by the pool on the sabbath!. While the story exists in both translations, the critical, earlier texts do not mention a history about an angel touching the water which heals people!. It doesn't really change much!. The ressurection ascension of Jesus Christ on the other hand are in all texts of the Bible and even referenced in some non-biblical sources from the time as well as Roman Chronicles!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Depends on what version and how far back you want to go!. The entire New Testament was added!. Books were rewritten and translated however the monk of the moment felt like doing it (Bibles used to be copied by hand) Add to that the confusion of translating Aramaic and Hebrew, and you've got a lot of extras!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No!.

The Dead Sea Scrolls have proven time and time again that verses have remained the same for centuries and millennia!.

Except the extra verses that the Catholics, Jehovah's Witnesses, and Mormons have added (as well as other religions)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
