Three reasons:

1!. They had ineffective/outdated transportation systems that kept them from getting supplies to the front lines!.

2!. They had outdated military technology!.

3!. The military was poorly equipped!. Some soldiers were not issued shoes and weapons and were told to take them from the dead!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
