So, I'm studying the Cold War, and I was wondering how the war affected the United States domestically!.

We sat here wondering if Russia was going to drop a bomb on us or not!. If they were going to do this first or that first!. There were always news reports of what the Russians were doing or what they said they were going to do!. It was like being in a zoo and being watched by people all around you all the time!. Star Wars, the space program, was a big deal!. Who would do what first!? Us or the Russians!. The President of the US had the "Red Phone" on his desk in case of emergencies, so he could call the Russians!. Sometimes it was like walking on eggshells trying to decide what was going to happen or what was the best way to deal with it!. Eventually we decided that Russia was not that much of a threat and they were just as afraid of us as we were of them so we basically just went on with life and forgot about them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
