Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: no, it didn't work because there was the civil war a decade later!. the main issue of the compromise of 1850 was slavery, which was obviously not solved!. they allowed slavery to continue in the south but let other states be free states!. a decade later our country went to war to abolish slavery, so the compromise did NOT solve the problem!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Definitely not!.
