Here are a few choices!. My favourite is Andrew Mynarski, VC!. I have seen the Mynarski Memorial Lancaster fly over my home!. The drone of the Lanc's engines is very distinctive!. I know it is the Lancaster without even looking!.

I know of one famous Canadian named James "Scotty" Doohan!. During WWII he enlisted in the Canadian army and rose thru the ranks to become a captain in the Canadian Special Forces!. During the Normandy invasion,he was leading his troops off the landing craft and the Germans were strafing the water with machine gun fire to keep the oncoming soldiers from the beach!.
In his autobiography he tells how he suddenly felt a sting on his right hand but kept moving forward!. It wasn't till he took cover near a ridge that he realized that his middle finger was barely hanging on by a peice of skin!. By the time he was taken to a field hospital,he was told that nothing could be done to reattach it!. If you ever see the original Star Trek series,you'll notice that you never see Scotty's right hand!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
