Question: Why in ancient wars,rape was never part of invasion!?

i mean,i seldom read any books saying the invaders raped,pillaged through their way of invading
i guess it may be due to in ancient time,soldiers would think it quite dishonorable to behave in this way!.especially,rape happened rarely!.because raping women would be the most dishonorable behavior back then
but today's wars,it seems rape always play a important part of soldiers' routine activities!.

Actually, it was commonplace for the soldiers to kill the men, rape the women, pillage the town, etc!.

Whatever you're reading that's of the contrary either considers it so commonplace or disrespectful that they won't even bother writting it down!.

Actually you're all a little off on the raping and pillaging part!. "Rape" is another word for "kidnap", and it's used in this context!.

Raping in the sexual context surely did exist, but in ancient times, armies would pillage (take home the spoils) and rape (kidnap) the women to take them back as wives or concubines!.

For example, Romulus, founder of Rome, invited convicts, freed slaves and petty criminals from surrounding tribes to settle his new city, yet there weren't many women among them!. The Romans' first war was to invite the villagers of a Sabine tribe and rape (kidnap) their women, then offer to marry the single ones and grant them titles, lands, etc!. Rape is rarely mentioned because back then it wasn't that important!. Today people are freaking out about rape but back then raping made you just another soldier!.
Do you really think the mongol hordes cared for honor!? Or the ancient armies of Egypt!.
