Question: Why did john hancock make his signature so big on the declaration of independence!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
According to my history teacher many years ago (who may have been old enough to actually see the Declaration get signed), Hancock made his signature so bold in defiance of the British!. If they ever got to read it, he wanted them to know who he was, as he fully expected the new nation to prevail against the British Empire and succeed as an independent nation!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

He made his signature large so that king George III could read it without his spectacles on!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

He wanted to show that he was passionate about the cause!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

why did the others make their's so small!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
