Your best bet if you are serious about this and want to be successful is to get a Ph!.D in History from a respected university!. Starting as beginning professor of History you could expect to earn from $50,000-70,000/year depending who offers you a full time position!. Some places may offer more others may offer less!. There are many good schools to attend for History, but make sure its an academically strong school in History specifically!. Many school on the east coast should be strong, as well as the University of Texas, Notre Dame and Stanford!. It's not as important where you get your undergraduate degree in History as it is where you get your Ph!.D!. Good luck!
