Question: What was bad about 1947!?
I was listening to old episodes of the Jack Benny radio program!. Every December they would do a New Year's skit about the Old Year (Jack) getting ready to move out of the boarding house to make room for "the new tenant" (the baby New Year!.) Old Year would give New Year a little briefing on what problems the world was facing and what people were going to need help and encouragement!. In this case the outstanding name was Marshall!. What struck me as odd is that the 1947 skit was the most downbeat and least optimistic of any I had heard including the ones recorded during the Depression and during WW2!. There were no details, just that it had been a tough year and he hoped 1948 would have it easier!? Any ideas about what was tough about 1947!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
