Yes, it was proven in Mein Kempf, his autobiography where he had stated that he had lost it in the Battle Somme in 1916 by an exploding shell which had injured his legs as well, in world war one!.
Some believes that it was that wound that had caused Hitler to blame the jews for not helping the german army by enlisting into the army, thus, causing them to lose world war 1!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
