i think they did in the end, you forget that past world powers of that time had already conquered that area, so when they conquer each other they more or less inherit the province!.

Look it up on wikipedia, specifically for roman territory!.
there are also some books in the library about roman empire and rule

Yes they did!. Trajan in particular secured most of the east under roman dominion!.So weakening the Parthians Persia, romes only rival in the area that they fell to the Sassanid dynasty!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
