NOT TRUE!.
After the Axis had been defeated, there was no need for war materials, so plants switched back to making things for people rather than the military services!. After not being able to buy things that were un-available during the war, people went on a buying spree, and also started to demand new homes and new everything!.

New homes needed new furniture, rugs and appliances, and new cars in the driveway!. All of this caused a boom time that lasted for about 15 years, into the middle 50's!. Enormous amounts of new stuff was made and sold, and the North American economy was riding high, with mot people working and making good money!.

The " confidence factor " was high as many new companies built new plants and hired new workers to make the new cars tvs and appliances!. The GI bill in the USA paid returning servicemen to go to college to get more education and new skills!. All of this contributed to a period of "good times"!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

ww2 created many jobs, lowering unemployment and making profits for American companies pulling the US out of the depression!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
