It depends on the area they were in and at what time!. There were two types of concentration camps, death camps and working camps!. Death camps of course with the objective of extermination (such as Auschwitz) and workers with the objective of slave labour (such as Dachau) Auschwitz also used many prisoners for labour although death was the primary purpose!. Many died on the trains on the way there, in winter most died on the train as they were transported on carriages piled on top of each other, conditions you wouldn’t even transport livestock!. During the end of the war the ones that survived the train were sent straight to the “showers” which were actually gas chambers that were made to resemble showers in order to not cause panic!. At the end the Nazi’s were focusing less on labour needed to rebuild Germany and contribute to the war effort and more so the exterminate as many jews as possible!.

When they arrived and either type of camp their heads were shaved as hair was used to fill mattresses and was even used as insulation for their submarines!. Gold teeth and filling were extracted and melted down!. Prosthetics, crutches, suitcases, glasses, everything was taken from them!. They were to have no possessions!. In fact in Dachau you can see they put a shelf above every bed even though they had nothing to put on it!. This was just to remind them they had nothing and to mess with them!. They often slept 6 people on a 1 person bed!. This meant they had 3-4 ppl sleeping on top of each other!. Since they were often sick they often had the runs and would p*ss and crap on each other in bed as if you got up you were shot!. This of course lead to desease!.

At Terizin just outside Prague they had an empty pool where they would order two prisoners to fight to the death!. The officer and there family would watch for fun!. This was done purely for entertainment for them and their kids!. They also had a shooting range there where they would order jews to run around to use them as target practice

EDIT: well Natzweiler-Struthof was mainly used for resistance fighters, mainly french and dutch!. Pretty sure it was the only one in france!. It was a workers camp but they did have gas chambers and a crematorium, not sure if they were actually used gas there though, I know they shot a lot of them!. That depends on which concentration camps you are talking about!. Not all people sent to concentration camps were killed!. There were concentration camps in the US after the Japanese declared war and bombed Pearl Harbor - these were occupied by Japanese/American citizens who were taken inland and held in concentration camps because the government feared there might be spies or saboteurs among them!. Some people were murdered immediately!.
Some were slave labor until they were too weak to work and then they were murdered!.
They were not just murdered, they were robbed of their possessions, hair, skin, gold teeth, and anything the Nazis found of value!.

the women were often raped the men were often forced into some kind of digging labor and the rest they would just starve and torture and strike fear into so many they would shave there heads and brand them with a number and sign they would often play sick games and kill the losers or weak and forced them into small places as well Www@QuestionHome@Com

In Nazi Germany, the men were generally put to work in hard labor camps and women were generally put to work in textile factories!. Children were held in large buildings!. And at some camps, the Nazi scientists would perform experiments on the people!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
